Celebrities Marry Quietly Out of the SpotlightMandy Moore and Tom Brady Wed Significant Others in Secret Weddings
Quarterback Tom Brady and Actress Mandy Moore decided to keep their weddings low-key and private as they wed their significant others outside of the spotlight.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and model Giselle Bundchen were quietly married February 26th, 2009 at the St. Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, California. The duo then had a second ceremony in early April in Costa Rica. The couple has been together for two years and started dating shortly before Brady’s ex, Bridgette Moynahan, announced she was pregnant with Brady’s baby. In a new interview with Vanity Fair Bundchen told the magazine the news was a shock but ultimately strengthened their relationship. "I think it was a blessing, because otherwise I don’t think I would have known what he was made of, and he wouldn’t have known what I was made of,” she says There was a lot of marital speculation leading up to the weddings. Reports surfaced the couple had been engaged over Christmas 2008 but Bundchen denied those rumors. According to the Vanity Fair interview, Bundchen says they'd been engaged long before that but kept it to themselves. The first ceremony was tight-lipped with the couple not confirming or denying the wedding had taken place. Neither Brady nor Bundchen wore wedding bands once they were back in New York but they didn’t leave fans wondering for too long when they had a second wedding that was still low-key but not as unexpected as the first in California. This time around, not quite two months later, Brady and Bundchen had another ceremony at Bundchen's Costa Rican home with about 50 family and friends including Brady's son John and the New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft . The bride wore a white gown, had a 10 foot veil and carried white orchids at the sunset ceremony. Mandy Moore and Ryan AdamsSinger/Actress Mandy Moore got engaged in January 2009 to singer/songwriter Ryan Adams which shocked and surprised many fans and media outlets. Moore had dated a few high profile celebrities in the past but her relationships were largely kept out of the spotlight. However, the real shock was to come a mere two months later when it was announced Moore and her beau had been married in a small ceremony over a weekend in early March at a chapel in Savannah, Ga. The couple drove to the Whitefield Chapel at Bethesda Home for Boys just outside Savannah in a black town car. There was no family or friends present at the quick, casual ceremony. Moore wore a lacy, cream colored, tea length dress with flats and Adams wore jeans, a t-shirt and a sport coat. Paster Steve Schulte presided over the eight-minute wedding and said Moore became emotional while saying her vows. "She was thrilled to be getting married. She was giddy but not in a childish way. She was obviously so happy," he said.
