Celebrity Bachelors Take the PlungeHarrison Ford and Vince Vaughn Engaged to Girlfriends
The perma-bachelor's take a step towards making things official.
Prominent actor Harrison Ford, 66, proposed to his girlfriend of over seven years on Valentine’s Day, 2009. Calista Flockhart, 44, accepted Ford’s proposal on Valentine’s day while on a family vacation. Flockhart and Ford have been dating for over seven years and there’s even been talk of Ford legally adopting Flockhart’s adopted son Homer, 8. "They're so down-to-earth and so much in love," says philanthropist Baroness Monica von Neumann. "It's amazing how much he adores [Liam]." The notoriously private Ford has been married twice before. His first marriage to Mary Marquardt lasted 15 years and the couple has two kids. His second marriage was to screenwriter Melissa Mathison which lasted 21 years and the couple also has two kids together. No wedding date has been set but the couple just recently confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that they were even engaged. The quiet couple have not released any wedding plans. This will be the first marriage for Flockhart, who made a name for herself on the television show Ally McBeal. Vince Vaughn & Kyla WeberPerpetual bachelor Vince Vaughn seems to finally be ready to settle down. Vaughn, 38, proposed to real estate developer Kyla Weber, 29. The couple has been quietly dating since Summer 2008 and Weber moved in with Vaughn in December. In Touch Weekly reported in August 2008 Vaughn brought a “mystery girl” to meet his friends and the couple later caught Dolly Parton’s performance at Griffith Park. An eyewitness told the magazine the couple was “holding hands and kissing”. The engagement ring is reportedly worth $125,000. According to fellow realtor Sylvia Smith, the ring is a “great big diamond surrounded by other circular diamonds.” Vaughn’s dating background includes Joey Lauren Adams from Mallrats and Dazed and Confused and ex-girlfriend/co-star in The Break Up, Jennifer Aniston. Aniston and Vaughn made major headlines with their year-plus relationship. Aniston had just announced her divorce from Brad Pitt when she and Vaughn started shooting The Break Up. Friend and fellow actor Jon Favreau recently welcomed Vaughn to what he calls “the day shift”. "Vince has been single for a number of years and we've been on different schedules," Favreau said. "He was sort of on the night shift; I was on the day shift, living on opposite ends of town." There is no word on any plans or date set. This will be the first marriage for Vaughn who will be starring next in the comedy Couples Retreat.
