These ladies are the newest casualties of celebrity marriage and divorce.

Divorce seems to be something of the norm when it comes to celebrity marriages. Whether a marriage lasts only a few years or over a decade the blow of the end is still hard on the couple and still makes headlines. Liv Tyler, Shania Twain and Star Jones have recently filed for divorce and although not all the splits come as a shock, the same end is in store for the three drastically different marriages.

Liv Tyler

Actress Liv Tyler, daughter of rocker Steven Tyler, filed for legal separation from her husband of just over five years, British musician Royston Langdon. Tyler and Langdon were wed in a private ceremony in 2003 in the Caribbean and had son Milo, now 3, in December of 2004. Tyler was quoted in 2004 saying she didn’t believe in divorce but has now apparently changed her tune.

The couple's relationship recently came under fire in an Us Weekly article. A source overheard Tyler complaining to friends that she felt Langdon was like a “leech on her assets” and she had married too young. His previous band, Arckid, had folded and his recent attempts to join other bands had failed. The source also heard Tyler seeking the advice of a lawyer over the phone. Her rep released a statement confirming Tyler and Langdon had filed for legal separation but remain “good friends and devoted parents to their son Milo.”

Star Jones

Star Jones, formerly of the View, is never one to do things quietly or without drama. Her wedding is just one example of this. Jones married Al Reynolds in 2004 in front of 500 guests in a ceremony which was highly controversial. Jones racked up corporate sponsors for her own wedding while co-hosting the "View". A particular sponsor would provide something, free of charge, and Jones would rave about that company or product on the show.

Reynolds, a banker and seven years Jones’s junior, seemed to always take a backseat to his wife’s “diva” ways according to people who used to work with Jones. In early 2006, the couple started to shoot down rumors their marriage was on the rocks. In April 2008 Jones released a statement saying her marriage was over. Gossip blogs had comments from fans expressing condolences to the couple but not shock.

More rumors started swirling about the marriage possibly being a sham and explanations were flying around as to why the two would’ve married if not for love. Reasons included publicity, companionship and even wondering if Reynolds is a homosexual. The gossip got so bad Reynolds had to release a statement of his own stating the reason for the marriage was love and to respect the privacy of the parties involved.

Shania Twain

Country music superstar Shania Twain shocked fans when she suddenly split from her husband of 14 years, music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange. The couple was married in 1993 and have a son together, Eja, 6.

When Twain initially filed for separation, People magazine spoke with Lange. He said it’s an unfortunately situation but was simply a matter of two people growing apart. However, sources are now claiming that another woman is the cause of the break-up. The sources claim the other woman is Marie-Anne Thiebaud, the couple’s secretary at their home in Switzerland. The pair allegedly left their spouses for each other after they had started the affair.

When Lange was asked for comment he denied the affair altogether. Friends say Twain is devastated. "This came out of left field. She loved him.”
