Sex and the City Actress & Husband Having TwinsSarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick Expecting Via Surrogate
The busy actors are expecting twin girls via a surrogate mother but they're certainly not the first celebrities to do so and be vocal about it.
Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker announced they will be expanding their brood sometime near the end of the summer. The couple will add twin daughters to the mix via a surrogate, which will bring them up to three children; they already have six-year-old son James. Rumors of TroubleParker, 44, and Broderick, 47, have been recently dogged by rumors their marriage is on the rocks. The couple is rarely photographed together and during summer 2008, rumors starting flying that Broderick was cheating on his wife. However, those rumors seem to have been put to rest with the news of impending twins and Parker accompanying Broderick to the premier of his film Wonderful World. The duo gushed about each other all night to People magazine. While staring at his wife of almost 12 years in a skin-tight dress, he says “Doesn’t she look beautiful?” Trouble ConceivingAccording to a friend of the couple, they have had trouble conceiving in the past and thought a surrogate was the “best alternative to expand their family.” The source goes on to say Parker and Broderick knew they wanted more kids since James was born but had some troubles along the way. Parker has recently voiced stress about the upcoming arrival of two new family members. She told New York Daily News, “It's been a complicated past few weeks. My main concern is that my husband and son have enough time. I've felt very conflicted over the last few weeks. Hopefully, our son is feeling loved and taken care of. I can't really complain because it's my choice to work, but that doesn't mean I don't spend a better part of the day worrying about whether my family is getting enough (time) from me” She goes on to say that these types of worries are common for expectant mothers. Other Celebs with SurrogatesUsing a surrogate seems to be a hot topic in Hollywood in the last few years. Dennis Quaid and his wife, Kimberly, had twins via a surrogate in November 2007 but kept the details of why they used a surrogate private. Marissa Jaret Winoker and husband Jonah Miller welcomed a son, Zev, via a surrogate in late July 2008. Winoker had been very vocal about her battle with cervical cancer and her desire to have a child. She was diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of 27 and ended up having a hysterectomy but made the decision to freeze some of her eggs. She and Miller decided to have a surrogate carry their biological child which is something they never thought would happen.
